A bit about me…
I’m originally from South Africa but have lived in the UK for ten years – currently in Cornwall. I’ve been married for 12 years and have two children (a 7 year old and a 2 year old). Coming from a very sporty background, I represented my country in both surfing and triathlon and have completed ironman events. And I love nature – as I work in a fast paced environment, I like my downtime to be quiet and laid back.
That’s pretty much me!
What was I doing before Intaso?
Most of my career has been based around sales. In South Africa, Sales Director level where I had large groups of salespeople beneath me. I transitioned into recruitment when I first came to the UK, looking for a new opportunity. I went through a horrible experience working with numerous recruitment companies, and thought I could do it better! Now at Intaso I have found my niche, working in the technical team. I haven’t looked back.
How did I come to be at Intaso?
A previous work colleague referred me to Ryan – We had an initial call and I liked his down-to-earth approach and his vision for Intaso. I have been working with the team for over a year now, and that approach hasn’t changed. Intaso has built an amazing team and is very grateful to be a part of the journey.
The kind of roles I typically work on/enjoy working on…
I provide the talent for SOC – from junior analysts through to directors. Sometimes the director may already be there and engage me to build out the SOC; other times, my job is to hire senior leadership to manage an existing team. I once built a SOC in seven days! I will also be taking care of the engineering and pentesting side of the business moving forward.
Something people might not know about me is…
That I currently hold a purple belt in brazilian jiu jitsu and that I teach and coach in my spare time.
If I was trapped on a desert island with one meal, one album and one movie, they would be…
Meal: Bacon hamburger, chips and ice cream
Album: Ben Howard, Every Kingdom
Movie: Taladego Nights
